Doesn't matter what I feel.
You don't care.
So I lock it away,
Within a vacant stare.

Shut down inside.
Pretending everything is fine.
Going through the motions;
Denying what is mine.

I know what you want.
Nothing more or less,
Than what is already there,
Inside an empty caress.

Friendship is fine and dandy,
For only so long.
But passion inevitably will muddle the tides we sail,
And everything goes wrong.

For now that friendship will suffice,
And I'll pretend I feel nothing more.
I know it will not end well,
When you shut the door.
